Raleigh Newborn Photographer | My Approach to Newborn Photography
As a Raleigh newborn photographer as well as a momma to two sweet boys, I know just how exciting bringing home your new baby is. Whether it’s your first baby or if there are siblings to come home to, it’s definitely a transition, a wonderful, anticipated, exciting, and yet EXHAUSTING transition. There are so many things going on at home. Maybe dishes are piling up, maybe your bedroom is a mess or maybe you haven’t done laundry in weeks. Maybe you have other kiddos at home and the transition isn’t going as smoothly as you had hoped or maybe you are struggling due to lack of sleep or your baby wanting to be held all of the time. Maybe everything is perfect and blissful and you’ve got it all together (I wish I could have been that mom!).
Your story at that moment is perfect just as it is, just as you are (momma’s, I know we all struggle with this but trust me, you are gorgeous, your body has done and is doing amazing things, and your friends and family love you exactly as you are!) just as your baby and your family and your house are, even if it doesn’t feel like it. As a newborn photographer in Raleigh, my approach to newborn photography brings me into your home, where you are most comfortable and embraces the moment. That beautiful moment and definitely that beautiful messy moment. It doesn’t matter if your house is spotless. It doesn’t matter if your baby is fussy or if the siblings don’t want to cooperate. I will capture real life moments. No stiff posing, no babies in baskets or intricate unnatural poses for baby. Don’t worry, we will still get that “money shot” of everyone looking at the camera but my focus is on the connection of the family. Together we will tell this story of your family and it will be a beautiful story.
One of my favorite photographers shared how when she went to take newborn photos of her youngest she had a moment of “why is my baby alone and naked in a basket when I should be keeping her warm and safe”. Lifestyle newborn photography solves this problem by capturing the connection you have with your baby and with your family. If baby never wants to be put down , baby won’t be put down. Your baby is in control of their session. I will capture all the details, hands, feet, hair, etc, in a way that will make you FEEL something when you look back at your photos, 3 months, 9 months, a year, even 20 years later. I want you to remember how it felt to bring home that sweet baby. How in love you were, how exhausting it was, how precious and fleeting that time was.
There is nothing I would love more than to tell this story for you and your family. If you would like to schedule a newborn session with a newborn photographer in Raleigh, click here to get started.
